Description
Phaseolus vulgaris
If I could grow just one snap bean year after year, this would be it. It is a stringless pole bean coming from the blue lake lineage of beans – known for their sweet flavor. It is massively productive, outgrowing and reaching for the sky above the 8 foot trellises we fashion for them. They stay tender for a long time and produce long into the season. The sweet flavor will make it hard for these beans to reach your kitchen because they’ll have all been eaten by the time you get inside. This bean was an All American Selections winner in 2003. Seeds grown at Flytree Farm in Northfield, VT, and seed stock came from John Austin.
