Brown Goldring is a romaine or cos lettuce variety. It is renowned for exceptional flavor, praised for its sweetness and crisp texture. These tasty plants have compact, conical heads of long, dark green leaves with tinges of brown at the edges and tips. It thrives in both cool and summer conditions, offering a dependable lettuce across seasons. It is an award winning English heirloom, introduced by the Goldring family of Bath, England, and winner of the 1923 Royal Horticulture Society Award of Merit. Seed stock came from the Irish Seed Savers Association.
